Newsbits The new 100 US Dollar Bill

Being the biggest denomination of US Dollar, the Federal Reserve recently changed the 100-US Dollar bill to include more security features to protect users from the counterfeit ones.
We were able to get a piece of this and checked the security features based on the internet. Heres a closer look of a few prominent features that we consumers/buyers of US Dollar need to know about the new 100-Dollar bill:
The most prominent security feature: Blue strip with the number 100 written on it

When placed under the light, you would notice that there is another writing by the left of  Bens Face

The huge 100 written at the back of the bill

When tilting the bill, you would notice that the bell inside this so-called jar changes color

There is this drawing by the white space at the front side;
The 100 written at the lower right side also changes color when you tilt the bill

You can also see the same drawing at the white space at the back of the bill

Nescafe Decaf drinker Win a Trip for 4!

Don't you just love coffee? When I was younger, carbonated drinks was staple in my main meals. Now, I crave for coffee every now and then. Perfect when the weather is cold, I don't mind drinking it when the weather is hot too. It never fails to give me a boost and admittedly, one of my favorites is Nescafe. My dad likes another brand of instant coffee (brand: coffee candy to instant coffee). I find that too sweet for my taste. Nescafe is just right for me, be it the 3 in 1 variant, the original variant or the decaf variant. (of course, I add a bit of cream and sugar to the non-3 in 1 variants).

Legoland Malaysia Personal Experience and What to Expect

Legoland Malaysia is the first theme park of its kind to open in Asia. Located at Johor Baru, this place is actually nearer when coming from Singapore as it only takes around 2 hours of travel including immigration as compared to coming from Kuala Lumpur where it takes around 4-5 hours depending on the traffic situation. (Here's our travel experience from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia: http://cheftonio.blogspot.com/2013/11/newsbits-singapore-to-legoland-malaysia.html)

Lancer Project Working on the trunk

I decided to check my Lancers trunk to see how things are  back there.

And boy I am glad I did - see how dirty it is - there are spots where rust is starting to form.

Fortunately, most of it are just surface rust and mud (from the spare tire). But I have to be sure - to see how much damage I have to deal with - I decided to give it a thorough cleaning using some soap and water.

I decided to unplug the trunk light so that I dont accidentally drain the battery.

Now that all the dirt and grime has been removed - time to deal with the rust. See that bad spot there? Notice that my trunk had its fair share of rot in the past :(

It is really advisable to check up on your trunk once in a while. We used to  neglect the trunk and this has caused some parts of it to rust - I did a quick DIY job using some epoxy and paint a while back and fortunately it did the trick. The holes I patched up (circled blue) years ago included the trunks drain plug :(

Heres a close up of the rust I have to work on today :(

With the help of a wire brush - I removed as much rust as I can.

I sanded it down with some coarse sandpaper afterwards.

To prevent further rust damage, I applied several coats of rust converter and allowed it to cure overnight. I find it amusing to watch the converter at work - love the bubbles! :)

The following day - the rust converter has dried up and after a bit of sanding, Im ready to paint. I inspected the underside to make sure that rust hasnt eaten through the metal and Im glad that everything is pretty solid aside from the small hole you see in the picture..  I hope that this project has prevented this from spreading.

After several coats of paint - problem solved! (I know that this is just a temporary fix but it is better than doing nothing.. I really need to learn how to weld metal soon)

Now - everything looks neat and tidy! :)

The repairs I did years ago are still holding on - yey! (some closeup shots - I didnt bother sanding it down then - i figured no one will see it anyway hehe)

With the spare tire and other tools. TIP: It is advisable to clean your spare tire and tools before storing it. Keep everything dirt and mud free to avoid facing the same issues I had.

Since I was already at it - I decided to clean the trunk gutters as well - see how fresh it looks! :)

Still thinking if there are problem areas I might have missed with my Lancer..hmm..

Have You Tried Claiming Packages at the Post Office

It all started when I got a registry notice from the Philippine Postal Corporation.

Last June 2, 2011,  I got a registry notice from Philippine Postal Corporation. It's the first time I got one and I have no idea what that thing is about. After reading some vague instructions at the back of the card, I suspected that it was a package. Thing is, I didn't order anything.

Can you understand the writing written under "Claim at Window"?
4 days after, I decided to claim my "package". Problem is, the registry notice card I got was very vague that it wasn't even indicated where to claim it nor where the post office was. There was no address nor a phone number to contact to. In short, I didn't even know if this was the real thing or if this was just a scam.
